[by Cho Suyoun / photo by Jang Moon Sun] On March 19, the '19th Chunsa Film Festival' was held at the Press Center in Seoul.
The 'Chunsa Film Festival' was first hosted in 1990 to honor film director Chunsa Na Woon Gyu, who passed away at the age of 36 only in 1937. Since then, the festival has awarded the best screenplay, rookie director, technology, actors and actresses within six big categories.
On this day, Song Kang Ho and Shim Eun Kyung each received the best actor and actress awards. Moreover, director Yang Woo Seok was awarded the best rookie director for his hit film 'The Attorney' while three writers Shin Dong Ik, Hong Yoon Jung and Dong Hee Sun received awards for film 'Miss Granny.' However, no one was awarded as the best film director in this year.
Meanwhile, 'the Chunsa Film Festival' stopped for four years since 2010, but has resumed in 2014.
