Think 'Impressive' For Your Printed Dress

[by Choi Won Hee / Translated by Nawael Khelil] This FW14, patterns are taking over colors.

The dresses that stars wear to official events are becoming more and more impressive. Last year, women who wanted to express their fashion sense used to respond to the law stating that ‘simple is your answer’. However, this year is more reaching the next level with impressive patterns.

Those fashion icons found their own answer in fabrics. Chiffon, tweed, jacquard… each fabric expresses a different aura that became an important point in actresses’ styling.

Thin and light chiffon brings actresses’ slender image into relief. This fabric - cute at a time, glamorous at another according to the patterns – is very versatile and adapts to the design of the cloth to express various feelings.

Soo Hyun managed to create a long and elegant silhouette by wearing a long waist-enhancing chiffon dress with stars on it. Her natural hair adds to the authenticity of the print for a genuinely beautiful look.

The dress that Park Shin Hye wore at the press conference held to present movie ‘The Royal Tailor’ was the personification of elegance. Made of several thin and luxurious layers this dress, printed with oriental flowers, fascinates whoever looks at it.

Irene’s impressive chiffon dress also caught our attention. Its ornaments crackle every time a camera flashes, emphasizing the model’s bright personality.

We recommend jacquard, a motif that flaunts a kind of Oriental beauty, to those scared by bold patterns. The combination of elegant gold and simple black is of a beauty that can’t be described with words.

On the other side, there are also sparkling clothes. Han Ye Seul, whose image is cheerful and bright, resorted to a sparkle dress to express her personality at an official event (which marked the actress’ first appearance after three years). She didn’t wear any accessory for a clean look that enhanced sparkles’ impact.

Tweed and knit are, as expected, amongst the most popular fabrics. Stars love these materials that actually represent autumn’s atmosphere.

Jun Do Yeon, whose beautiful plastic never fades, created a decent silhouette with a warm tweed one-piece that slightly enhanced her waist. Bare legs under this thick fabric completed a look that cannot disappoint.

The checked one-piece that Sulli wore at the VIP premiere of movie ‘Fashion King’ created a schoolish-not-so-schoolish kind of look. Her role in the movie makes us anticipate her outfits.

Esom’s knit dress is also unusual. The big prints as well as the neglected hemlines expressed, at the same time, grungy and clear feelings. If you usually find it difficult to match a fabric with the appropriate pattern, you should start by trying tweed and knit items. (photos by bntnews DB)
